Have a question that isn’t answered? Just ask.
In NUHW, workers set the agenda for our union. When healthcare workers control and actively participate in our union, we are able to win the strongest possible contracts and have the power to enforce those contracts every day at work. Because of this power, including the use of high-turnout job actions and strikes, NUHW has won contracts with raises and no takeaways all over the state.
In contrast, SEIU is committed to partnering with employers and cutting backroom deals, and workers have paid the price. Not only has SEIU agreed to takeaways in every contract negotiated since Washington, D.C. officials took over our union, but contract enforcement and job security has suffered.
